Riverdancing Tobys, Salmon And Lomond (Introduction).
An introduction to the writer.
This trolling article has been written by our Vice Chairman Peter Lyons. Peter was one of two members behind the removal of the deposed committee that had left the LLAIA facing bankruptcy in 1995/1996. Peter has been on our committee ever since and has played a key role in many of the decisions the committee have made over the years.
Peter fishes the loch regularly and the rivers occasionally. He has done tremendous amounts of work freely for the llaia every single year. Last year Peter suffered a stroke and ended up paralysed down one side of his body leaving him no movement in either his left leg or arm. He has since worked hard to get himself back up to a level whereupon he can now walk and has the use of his left arm. He is working hard to get himself fully fit again and hopefully ready to face the Big loch in 2008.
It is a measure of Peters determination that even when he could not walk or use his right arm that he attended committee meetings and once again played a key role in strategy and planning. Peter is our Vice Chairman and if he ever decided to leave the committee it would be a huge loss to the LLAIA.

Peter wrote this article to try to help others to catch fish (particularly the grilse) whist trolling the lochs shorelines. Peter can be seen on most Saturdays trolling during the early part of the season but also fly fishes regularly when conditions are suitable but believes there are times when it is far better and more productive to troll than fly fish. Once September arrives though he will be seen fly fishing almost exclusively from then on till the end of the season.
We hope you enjoy his article on trolling and catch more fish in the process.
