It is with great sadness that we wish to inform you that one of our members Stuart McMichael, affectionately know as ‘big Stu’,  sadly passed away on 3 January at the RAH Paisley.

Stuart was a member of the LLAIA for many years before being forced into retirement through ill health. He was well known for his big smile and mischievous, quick witted sense of humour. Stuart fished the Loch out of Balmaha and was also known to many Voldac anglers. Stuart loved his camping trips and drum ups where he would freely share his stories and advice. A keen fly tier and would often be found up the Endrick. He will be sorely missed by his friends from the LLAIA and many former Strathclyde Police colleagues with whom he served for 30years.

Stuart’s funeral will take place on 0930 on Wednesday 3rd February at Clydebank Crematorium. His family are happy anyone wishing to pay respects can attend the car park.

Stuart will be sadly missed by so many and all of our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.

Due to covid restrictions numbers are restricted to family
